Archiving this year's posts here to clean up the main page.
Gonna write the Fīliad[teaser poem]. Brace yourselves
Today's the 500th anniversary of this.
this entire neocity is a post-shii purgatory.
Atoms are nature’s letters.
Molecules are the words.
Considering making some articles about fractions.
I'm considering calling winter my favorite season. It's the most indoorsy of the seasons.
Just got the rare spontaneous inspiration to start an article about impermanence. It's been weeks since I was last on here, so I'm very happy to return to making and editing infodu- I mean, pages.
Why does the Wii menu theme start so LOUD. I've always had at least one Wii since I was 10, and my house still had the CRT (Cathode-Ray Tube) TV in the living room. I remember always setting its volume to 4 out of 50 for this reason when I wanted to game on it.
I turned 23 on the 23rd, I'm getting real!
Disclaimer: I don't know what capybaras smell like.

Cats and dogs are overrated, capybaras would be better pets.
Let's talk about overrated numbers. Which numbers are overrated? Well, powers of 10 are certainly up there, especially 10 to the power of some multiple of 3, which gets their own words: thousand, million, billion, trillion, etc. But those aren't that bad. Base 10 is decent enough for gauging magnitude. 10 itself is definitely overrated, as when you get past the decimal-centrism, it's surprisingly uninteresting for a number of that size. Here are some small numbers which have well earned fame: 2, 3, 5 and 7 are primes. 4, 8, and 9 are perfect powers. 6 is a perfect number. That's already every number from 2 to 9! Going a little higher, 11, 13, and 17 are prime, 12 is abundant, and 16 is 2^4 AND 4^2. 14 and 18, like 10, aren't that interesting either by comparison. But going outside of purely mathematical properties, the numbers 50 and 118 are, in my opinion, overrated as well.
There are 50 US states, and it's been that way since 1959, when Hawaii and Alaska were admitted as states. As of now, that was 63 years ago, which is way too long to just hang at 50. The flag has a number of stars corresponding to the number of states. There are two overlapping rectangular arrangements of stars, the outer has 6*5 stars and the inner has 5*4 stars: 30+20=50. DC isn't a state, but it really should be. Puerto Rico is a territory, as are other, less populated islands. Existing states could also be split into other states.
118 is the number of elements in the Periodic Table. The way the table is most commonly presented gives the impression that 118 "completes" the columns. But it doesn't have to be this way. There may be more elements beyond it. In fact, there must be! Neutron stars are over 90% neutrons, but that means there must be several times more protons within, forming a nucleus which would far exceed the mass of Oganesson, element 118. But it's hard to say how many protons there would be, as it's extremely likely that every known neutron star would be its own element, and be rapidly changing, giving no time to get a good figure. Individual neutrons, though having no protons, could count as their own element as well, having atomic number 0.
Including antimatter would give us elements with negative atomic numbers. Antihydrogen has been produced, and even had its spectra analyzed. As expected, it had the same light pattern as hydrogen. I've never seen a periodic table include antimatter or neutron matter. If you look up a chart for the Standard Model, you'll likely see it exclude antimatter. I get if antimatter makes things look redundant, but both the positive and negative W bosons show up, so there's no excuse for antiquarks and antileptons to not be included either.
The world population reached 8 billion. But what's the real next milestone? To find out, I checked for notable numbers between 8 and 9 billion. Sadly, 2^32, the usual size for int variables, misses the mark; in fact, 2^33 falls into this range, as do some other perfect powers. Perfect powers are interesting but not that interesting. As it turns out, the number 8,589,869,056 is a perfect number!
Today, ComboClass talked about negative bases[►].
Yesterday was the 11th anniversary of 11/11/11, and the 10th anniversary of Paper Mario Sticker Star. Chugga uploaded part 1 of his long awaited essay on what's wrong with the game[►] where he talks about the prologue and chapter 1.
Just watched a video that analyzes the main characters from The Sopranos, American Psycho, and Great Gatsby[►]. Shows how even those who made it big lost in other ways.
I caught up, now I'm only one video behind! But really, I wasn't expecting so much side questing. I knew this game, like the other classic Paper Mario games, are very demanding for completionists, but Chugga's been doing a lot in between chapters 1 and 2. Good thing he just counts the episodes and not chapter progress now. Then again, today's episode has quite a long title[►].
I usually don't like questions that ask "What is your favorite..." Picking favorites is hard when there are too many things to choose from, as in practice, your "favorite" is most likely circumstantial! Picking favorites from too small a selection can be hard as well; the basis of the decision would be lacking. I consider 4 choices to be a good lower bound. Favorite season? Autumn, for the weather is neither too hot, too cold nor allergenic. Favorite Mario & Luigi game? Bowser's Inside Story; though I feel like it's quality and variety spoiled me. Favorite color? I have always answered red.
Made articles about Abrahamic religions and the Problem of evil.
Last night, Youtube channel ComboClass released a video about threeven numbers[►]. For that, I might as well make an article on the number 3 today.
Some parts of the Goomba Village theme remind me of the Simpson's intro.
By sheer coincidence, Whatifalthist uploaded a video about Indian Civilization. By his own admission, he doesn't understand it as well as he does the Middle East, China, and The West, but still read a lot about it in order to. The video ended on a cliffhanger. That's enough for now. I'm gonna play Paper Mario.
New Numbers article. I’ve now realized that, in using terms like “The West” and “Far East”, that I’ll have to describe what they mean. I plan on adding articles on Christianity and Buddhism. I was raised Christian, more specifically Catholic, but it became less specific. Despite my highs and lows, I never really stopped being Christian. I remember first learning about Buddhism in high school history. It was viewed positively, as there was no caste system, and it’s 4 noble truths are about suffering and how to escape it. Since then, I’ve learned a lot more about Buddhism.
I finished four articles corresponding to each tag. The links are up for you to check out. This has been an amazing day so far. I couldn't sleep last night due to anticipation. The new Paper Mario LP, as expected, didn't get that far in the first episode; it went from start to just after the block destroys Goompapa's fence gate.
